Garbage Pile

This garbage pile will be used alot thoughout the game, as the atmosphere is damp, dirty and dark. It is suppose to show that the player is inside a human built structure of a barn that is completely made out of wood. The aliens however, have taken over and forced there own structures into human built structures, so alot of objects around the player are either broken or just look odd as modern and futuristic stuctures mixed together do not match, kind of like the structures in Half Life 2.
 
I made this model by using 3ds Max. The main model with the little textures of brocken wood, is nothing more than a plian. All of the 3D looking pices of wood all started out as a box, but once I converted them into editable poly's, I modeled them into the correct shapes.

After the models were all finished, I unwraped them and loaded the UV Renders into photoshop where I then put a simple wooden texture on top of it. I then moved on to load the the textured Render into CrazyBump where I was able to create a Normal and Specular map. Once finished, I gave the model to Michael where he then placed the garbage pile wherever it looked best in the game.
