Ventilation Fan


This is a model of a ventilation fan that will be used to fill out the level within the game. While making this model, the hardest part was what an alien ventilation fan should look like? After looking at other industrial fans online, I just started adding pieces together bit by bit until it started to look like a fan. After the model was finished everyone seemed happy with the asset so I left it as it is.

I made this model in 3ds Max. I started out by adding a simple box, which is now the main body in the centre, where it holds all of the other objects that are conntected from the outside, such as the pipe on the right. The tools I mainly used to shape not only the main body, but other objects also are, extrude, chamfer and rotate.

These are some unwraped models of the ventilation fan that I have done within 3ds Max, the Normal, Displacment, Specular and Occlusion maps were all done in CrazyBump, in that order and the texturing was all done in Photoshop CS6. The detail on the texture, such as the rust and scratches on the metal, was all done within dDo.
 
 
 
 
 








 
Unfortunatly this model will not be fully textured for the presentation, but I hope to have all done before the show where we show of our game to the public.
